To all of the brave-hearted, selfless individuals and families who serve us in the name of freedom and peace, I extend the deepest gratitude for your endless sacrifices.

To those who have served and passed on, your memory is a precious gift to be treasured.

In your honor, I promise to use my knowledge, skills, actions, and thoughts to bring peace to my home and environment. I promise to use my vote to keep you safe, and rise up when I feel you are needlessly put in danger. That is what you do for me, and through that example, I am so inspired.

I promise to raise my sons to listen and empathize, to speak for those without a voice, to care for those who need love, and to do the right and noble thing, even when they are scared.

Today, my hope is that you feel the safety you strive to bring to the world, and may you and your families forever be supported by the country you serve.

Conclusion: I must constantly endeavor to honor and support those who serve our country, by cultivating peace in my heart. It is my deepest hope that no one will ever have to give their life or limb to preserve freedom. How I go about manifesting that hope, will be small, local moves towards harmony and understanding.
